Remember all those 90s hip hop classics that encouraged you to raise your hands up in the air, and throw ’em around like you just don’t care?

We certainly do, and we want to re-live those moments! So we’ve invited Dj Praiz and an impressive local cast of hip hop selectors to help us throw it back – way back – to when hip hop was real, and the culture was just finding itself.. We’ll be throwing some turntablism, funk and soul, and contemporary hip hop in there as well – but the focus is really on the classics! Advance tickets are just $10, available at online via Showpass now, and at The Savoy Hotel as of next week..

–> Also take note! We will be giving away tickets to the upcoming WBBL + The Real Blockhead shows on this night!

•• Dj Praiz ••

With roots stretching back to the dawn of hip hop, master turntablist and producer, DJ Praiz has continued to bring rarely matched skill and style to the west coast scene for nearly a decade. Praiz has rewritten the books when it comes to versatility by transcending eras and genres, creating his own unforgettable, feel-good signature sound.

Learning the ropes in Montreal, Praiz developed his own unique and sought-after style. His inspiration stems from record digging, as he regularly takes ques from jazz and various world sounds.

Well established in Montreal, Praiz made a successful move westward to British Columbia. His style has since evolved as he shares the stage with many other well-known artists. As a high-demand dj for resort towns, cities, and festivals alike, Praiz creates a sound experience that can keep any crowd moving.

“Praiz’s scratching is Really Good!” – Mat The Alien

“DJ Praiz’s style is a great balance of vibe & technique, and his selections are classic meets cutting edge. What more do you need in a DJ?”- Skratch Bastid
