On the Friday of this upcoming Halloween weekend, we finally have the opportunity to welcome these legends of the breakbeat to our stage at Bloom Nightclub. Since bursting onto the scene with their multi award-winning compilation “The Stanton Sessions” back in 2001, the Stanton Warriors’ irresistible and inimitable sound has consistently remained the soundtrack to some of the world’s biggest and best parties over the past thirteen years; from East London warehouses, Miami boat parties and illegal Detroit raves, to the stages of Coachella, Glastonbury Festival (official), Burning Man and Ultra Music Festival, selling out global tours and topping DJ lists along the way.

In the studio, Bristol’s Mark Yardley and Dominic Butler have honed a trademark, uncategorisable sound that is at once all their own, but also utterly indefinable, leading to high-profile releases on XL Recordingsfabriclondon, Cheap Thrills, Central Station Records, and Universal Studios Entertainment, alongside official remixes for everyone from Daft Punk and Fatboy Slim, to MIA and Gorillaz. This phenomenal output and remarkable longevity has ensured the Stanton Warriors legendary status amongst not only their fans, but also their peers, as they remain fresh, original and relevant; obstinately dancing to beat of their own drum and helping to pave the way for new talent.

In 2014 alone, the Stanton Warriors topped the Beatport charts (again), inspired Disclosure’s Grammy-nominated album Settle, got Annie Mac dancing on her living room carpet, opened London’s 3k capacity Building Six nightclub, saw their podcast shoot to No. 3 in the iTunes chart and smashed the stages of Ultra, Supersonic and Glastonbury.

In 2015, Stanton Warriors released a brand new album Rebel Bass featuring a host of new exciting bass artists such as Cause & Affect UK (aka Chris Lorenzo & Kane), which went to #1 on Apple Music’s general album chart and Top 10 in the iTunes dance album charts in 8 different countries across the world. They also continued their sold-out tours across the USA, Europe, Australia and the Far East, collaborations on Claude VonStroke‘s Dirtybirdlabel and a slew of exciting releases on their own tastemaker label, Punks Music

As a DJ, Clarence Dangerfield can be described as “a guy who puts the spank on sound systems.” A member of the Nelson-based The Lost Boys Collective and a founding member of the “Get Up, Get Down” (a monthly residency at Bloom Nightclub); Clarence is definitely taking full advantage of being involved in the Kootenay music scene. “I’ve had a warm reception to the Kootenays over the last year and I really look forward to being a contributing member of the community.” The future looks bright for Mr. Dangerfield as he has teamed up with teacher and mentor Rick Lingard of the Kootenay Music Academy. In addition, Clarence is working towards having an organic grasp on the music he makes and is focused on the idea that “the best way to predict the future is to create it.” With his productions gaining momentum and his roots beginning to take hold locally, things are definitely moving in the right direction.

•• More on Stanton Warriors ••

“Stanton Warriors’ Bring Me Down is pretty much the perfect garage beat. Everything about that song – the vocal line, the chords, the melody – is totally original.”
DISCLOSURE

“Oh my Gosh, SO good! This is the kind of music that makes you literally want to go mental on the nearest dancefloor. As tried and tested on my living room carpet!”
ANNIE MAC, BBC RADIO 1

“These two Bristol boys first charged, stormed and straight-up invaded the scene back in 2001 with a highly acclaimed debut compilation The Stanton Sessions and since then have continued to dominate and pillage every dance floor and pair of headphones that has come in their wake.”! THUMP / VICE

“Stanton Warriors make bass music; intentionally vague, unpigeonholeable, brilliant bass music.”
Noisey / Vice

“Their relevance and influence has grown with every year and their Stanton Sessions parties simply reaffirm their position atop the pedestal.”
MTV

“Stanton Warriors always deliver, this latest track just takes it to a whole other level.”
