Unfortunately we’ve only got two Nelson Market Fest‘s this year – so let’s make ’em count! Come on over to The Savoy Hotel after the hoopla on Baker Street dies down, and dip down to Bloom Nightclub for what is sure to be an incredible night of dancing and revelry..

Father/Daughter team Jason Whyte & Ocea Sasa will be holding the rhythm later in the evening, while DJ Colin Hargreaves will be in the groove to get us started from 10pm on. Cover is just $5 before 11pm, and $8 after, with Happy Hour drink specials on until 11:30. PK Sound in full effect!

•• Ocea Sasa ••
https://soundcloud.com/oceasasa

Hailing from the pristine beaches and forests of the Sunshine Coast near Vancouver, Ocea was raised at music festivals all over coastal BC. Gaining momentum at the age of 19, she began honing her taste in sound and culture in Nelson BC, nestled away in the Kootenay Mountains. The last few years she’s been living there and has made appearances at Shambhala Music Festival, Kamp Fest, The Field Gathering, and many other large, and small scale events. Her love for the culture of music and art has taken her into events coordination with the Field Gathering and other events. Ocea’s style ranges far. With an eclectic background of sound, you could hear her playing almost any genre from gypsy, to ambient, to deep bass, to G house, to everything remixed. Ocea stands up for individuality and authenticity on all fronts and lets those factors shine through her sound. A true up-and-comer to the BC Bass Music movement.

•• Jason Whyte ••

Jason got his start DJing and VJing in 1995 in Vancouver BC. Having grown up in the 80s, his tastes were geared toward the mid synth-pop vibes of the early electro movement. Once the 90s broke out with House music, there was no looking back and this has been his genre of choice ever since. Loving diversity in all music, he’s found the many sub genres of house music have kept his sets lively – spanning the deep, tech, jazzy and funky 4/4 beats in his infectious live sets. A yearly residency at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival (7 years long and 9 nights per year) opened up the opportunity for him to explore the mid-tempo, jazz and trip hop genres. His experience includes residencies at the Source, the famous Lotus Club, 11 years at Soundwave Music Festival, 10 years as a DJ /VJ withtheShambhala Music Festival, a residency at The World afterhours, and finally a vast number of VJ residencies at pretty much every nightclub and underground venue in Vancouver. He has hosted countless events in on the west coast and has acted as mentor and promotor for many an upcoming DJ, including his daughter, Ocea Sasa.
