Old School Hip Hop / House / ..and probably not much Rock ?

This is the first time we’ve ever offered free cover to anyone with valid student ID, so we hope all the students in town will take us up on our offer and help us throw a hype jam! Ben Fox Music + Fattycakes are teaming up to deliver a full night of old school and new school hip hop, house, trap, breakbeats, dubstep, drum & bass, and whatever else fels good – all sewn together by a commond thread of turntablism!

Cover will be $5 before 11pm and $8 afterwards, and anyone with a valid student ID to a local instituion like Selkirk College, Kootenay Studio Arts,Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences etc will be granted absolutely FREE cover!

Undeniably versatile as an established DJ/MC and PRODUCER, Ben Fox is a party pleasing animal.

When performing he has the ability to jump from one genre to the next in a sly fashion, what else would you expect from a Fox? Don’t be surprised if he elevates the crowd with an explosive double time freestyle followed by a full speed chirp scratch right into the chicken’s coop.

Ben’s home made music has been endorsed by Chillage and Truespin Records. No slave to a single genre this multi faceted artists productions include Hip Hop, House, Drum & Bass and Midtempo Bass Music.

Mentionable enactments include supporting artists like Method Man, Zion I, The Funk Hunters, Marten Horger, Liquid Stranger & Flux Pavillon just to name a few. He has played at countless music festivals including the notorious Shambhala music festival and is a member of the Fractal Forest stage crew which has been dubbed “the funkiest party on earth!”

Ben will transport your mind, body, and soul to a sonic paradise that while leaving you exhausted, yet strangely re-invigorated.

Fattycakes love for Vinyl started while he was living out east, but not until he moved to Nelson and emerged himself in its vibrant nightlife, did his journey as a DJ begin.

Over the years he focused on digging the crates to build his extensive repertoire. Expect to hear a blend of funk ,hip hop and electro house in which he creates an atmosphere thats brings a smile to your face and leaves you in your happy place.

Fattycakes has been performing at Unity Music Festival for the past three years and made his debut at Shambhala Music Festival in the Fractal Forestlast summer.
