After a spellbinding collaboration in The Grove at Shambhala Music Festivallast summer, Montreal’s FRASE is teaming up with Moontricks on a western Canadian tour! They’ll be stopping in at Bloom Nightclub for the Nelson, BC engagement on Saturday March 25, with support from fellow Kaslo-native Fluxo. $10 earlybird tickets are now sold out, $15 advance tickets available now at The Falls Music Lounge.

•• Moontricks ••

From the backwoods of British Columbia, Moontricks blends the mountain folklore of roots, blues, and bluegrass with their original electronic bass music.

Producer and DJ, Nog brings his hip hop background and minimalist, deep woods bass to the group, along with his blues harmonica and keyboard. His partner, Sean Rodman, draws on his career as a folk artist and songwriter laying down smooth, soul guitar riffs, vocals, and high energy banjo picking.

Together, they’ve been packing dance floors at venues and festivals across Western Canada including four back to back performances at Shambhala Music Festival. Moontricks has releases on Westwood Recordings, Adapted, Really Good, and Smokey Crow Records and their collaboration with The Funk Hunters, “Lunar Smack”, reached the top 10 on Beatport’s glitch hop chart.
The group pushes to combine the boundaries between live and electronic music and deliver their signature sound and style to diverse audiences and listeners.

•• FRASE ••

FRASE is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer from Montreal, Canada. During one of his first solo performances in Montreal’s “Club Belmont” FRASE caught the attention of Dub Fx’s manager Cade Anderson. Anderson pushed FRASE to loose his band moniker FM Hi LOW, go with his given name, and create a live solo performance that was light enough to travel with. Singing, playing electric guitar, and keys while launching beats in Ableton live, FRASE found his formula for fire.

•• Fluxo ••

Ryan began making music in Kaslo in the early 2000s and has continued to grow and develop into a well rounded musical being, inspired by local DJs Paul Phoenix, Hoola, Soup and the 5th Element crew; over the years opening up for acts like EL-B, Onra, B. Bravo, Jacky Murda, Shabazz Palaces and Joker – just to name a few. Always on point, always fresh!
