Winter has decisively arrived here in the Kootenays, and so we’ve sent for the desert sounds. As a longtime head of Burning Man‘s Pink Mammothstage / collective, Derek Hena has earned his stripes on the playa and on stages up and down the west coast, time and time again. Delivering a dynamic blend of uptempo house with hip hop influences – Derek’s sound is intrinsically reminiscent of the Bay Area rhythms made famous by Mark Farina and DJ Dan. His accomplice, the veteren Cali DJ Fredinho has been running things at House Warming Music, a popular San Francisco-based record label and productions crew, and doesn’t leave home without a tidy stash of exclusive and unreleased beats.

Cover is FREE before 11pm, and just $5 afterwards! Happy Hour drink specials are in effect until 11:30pm – see bottom of write-up for details.. Event Page: https://www.facebook.com/events/951477558319913/

•• Derek Hena ••
Pink Mammoth // San Francisco

Originally from upstate New York, Derek made the pilgrimage to San Fran and soon after, Pink Mammoth was born. Derek immediately took a lead position in the rapid growth of the collective. While holding down a day job as a booking agent/talent buyer at legendary SF nightclub Mighty, Derek helps coordinate all aspects of planning our signature Pink Mammoth parties, events and stages.

He’s also known to get quite a groove on behind the decks every now and then.

•• Fredinho ••
House Warming Music // San Francisco

Frederick Naujoks (Fredinho, 5th & E, Rick Bones, DJ Rickabone) began DJing parties in and around Santa Barbara in the mid 90’s being heavily influenced by both the Los Angeles and San Francisco rave scenes. The parties ranged from all night house parties in Isla Vista, to beach parties, to full moon raves in the mountains and deserts of California. Early on he grew in notoriety for his versatility in playing House Music, Techno & Drum and Bass, often having multiple sets at the same party, and sometimes incorporating different genres seamlessly into the same set through the use of samplers and effects.
