We’re all still feeling the glow of the remarkable Bass Coast Festival, and while we’ve still got Cherriep of the Philthkids in the area – we figured a last-minute Bass Coast Wrap Up Bash would be in order! This will be the only other time outside of said festival that all 3 ‘kids (Ghostwhip, Choones & theCherriep) will have a chance to play together, so come join us as they also throw Lorne B into the mix, a longtime music curator for Bass Coast. Respect is due to The Librarian, her dedicated crew and everyone that makes Bass Coast such an inspiring happening.

This night will feature cheap cover, good vibes, PK Sound, and drink specials until 11:30 • Check for full details at the bottom of this write-up..

•• Philthkids ••

Philthkids is a DJ crew best known for its contribution to booty, ghettotech and footwork music. Their collaborative sets – which they’ve coined as a “ghetto space party” – is a whirlwind through styles and time, bringing out the familiar unfamiliar in everyone. Separated by vast landscapes and kilted yaksman (commonly referred to as “Canada”) these collaborations are rarely sighted. Initially acclaimed in 2011 for their cross-genre EP Liquor Store they have since surfaced on labels such as Modern Ruin Records,Loose Squares and Aufect Recordings. In 2013 they formulated their own imprint Philthtrax – which quickly became a mainstay in the upper realms ofJuno Download‘s ‘Footwork/Juke’ charts. In 2015, the label shifted to become the only imprint actively pursuing ghettotech/jit as a primary focus.

This direction has received full support from ghettoteh pioneers such as DJ Nasty and D.j. Assault. Recent collaborations include output with artists likeDeejay Earl, DISTAL and while garnering DJ support from Addison Groove,Lee Bannon, Greazus, Coldcut, Slick Shoota and more..
